Trusted by NASA. Defense-Ready. For Missions That Cannot Fail.

Defense primes, aerospace innovators, and the agencies leading America’s return to space trust Geisel Software to engineer the autonomous systems, embedded software, and machine perception behind their most demanding programs.

When software has to survive the mission.

The software you trust on a Mars mission isn’t the software you trust on a phone.

When a rover is 140 million miles from the nearest engineer, when a multi-robot lunar team has to coordinate across a 2.6-second light delay, when an unmanned platform has to make a decision in a contested environment where comms have failed and GPS is denied, there is no patch. There is no rollback. There is no second chance.

That’s the work we do.

Geisel Software engineers software for autonomous platforms, robotic systems, and embedded devices operating at the edge of what’s possible, where reliability is the mission, where security is non-negotiable, and where every decision in code answers to lives, programs, and national interests.

We are 100% US-based. We are ITAR-ready. Every engineer on our team is vetted, trained, and accountable to the standards our defense, aerospace, and space customers operate under.

We call our standard High-Consequence Software. Zero-Failure Engineering.

It’s not a slogan. It’s the only kind of software that survives missions like these.

Think. Decide. Act. Built for defense platforms.

The hardest defense, aerospace, and space programs share a common structure: a system has to perceive its environment, decide what to do, and act without breaking.

// Think: Perception. Sensor fusion. Edge inference.

We engineer the software that lets autonomous platforms understand the world they operate in. Computer vision and sensor fusion that work in degraded conditions. ML pipelines trained on synthetic data when real-world data can’t be collected or shared. Edge perception that runs on resource-constrained hardware in places no engineer can reach.

// Decide: On-device autonomy & decision systems.

We engineer the software that closes the gap between sensing and action. SLAM, path planning, and behavior trees for unmanned ground, air, surface, and subsurface platforms. Multi-agent coordination for systems that have to cooperate without constant supervision. Onboard inference that makes the call when no operator can.

// Act: Operator control & human-machine teaming.

We engineer the software that puts humans in command of autonomous systems they can trust. Real-time control. Ground stations and command consoles. Teleoperation and supervisory control. Rugged human-machine interfaces for warfighters, mission operators, and astronauts.

Most of our defense, aerospace, and space programs use all three. That’s the point.

Where we engineer.

// Autonomous Robotics for Contested Environments

Ground, aerial, surface, and subsurface autonomy software designed for environments where GPS denies, comms fail, and the enemy gets a vote.

// Space-Grade Robotic Software

Flight- and mission-rated software for in-space robotics, planetary exploration, multi-robot coordination, and rendezvous operations.

// Embedded Vision & Edge AI

Real-time perception software for ISR, target detection, and mission systems running on size-, weight-, power-, and cost-constrained hardware.

// Mission Software for Operators

Edge-cloud platforms, command and control interfaces, and operator-in-the-loop software that turns sensor data into decisions in seconds, not hours.

Mission-critical software demands mission-critical engineers.

Every program we touch carries the same standard: the software has to work the first time and every time, in conditions where failure isn’t survivable.

That standard is built into who we hire and how we work.

Our engineers hold deep expertise in the work that doesn’t transfer easily: ROS and ROS2, QNX and other real-time operating systems, embedded software, and the practices that defense and aerospace programs depend on.

We are 100% US-based and ITAR-ready. That means our customers don’t navigate H-1B delays, offshore data exposure, or the export-control risk of distributed teams operating outside US jurisdiction. Our engineers are here, vetted, and cleared at the levels each program requires.

Software that’s already on the mission.

Built for the standards that matter.

Defense, aerospace, and space customers trust us with controlled technical data, classified program inputs, and software destined for systems that protect lives and missions. We meet that trust with the credentials our customers expect:

Working with Geisel on defense, aerospace, and space programs.

We engineer software directly for prime contractors, integrators, manufacturers, and agencies. Whether you’re a program manager looking for a trusted subcontractor on a current contract, a prime evaluating a partner for an emerging capability, or an agency office scoping a new effort, we’d like to talk.

Frequently asked.

Is Geisel ITAR-ready?
Yes. Geisel Software operates an ITAR-ready engineering practice with a 100% US citizen workforce, US-based facilities, and the access controls, training, and documentation required to support work involving ITAR-controlled technical data.
Can Geisel work on classified programs?
[TO CONFIRM with leadership]
How does Geisel handle export-controlled work?
All work involving export-controlled technical data is performed by US persons within the United States. We maintain access controls, training, and documentation appropriate to ITAR/EAR requirements.
Does Geisel pursue SBIR/STTR awards?
[TO CONFIRM]
Will my code be accessible to offshore engineers or subcontractors?
No. All Geisel engineering is performed by our US-based, US-citizen team. We do not subcontract code work offshore.
What software stacks and frameworks does Geisel work in?
ROS and ROS2, embedded Linux, QNX, VxWorks, FreeRTOS, common embedded C/C++ toolchains, and modern ML/perception frameworks. We deliver across the stack, from kernel-level drivers to operator-facing applications.

Have a mission that can’t fail?
That’s the work we’re here for.
